In April 2006, FormoSat-3/COSMIC’s six satellites – “the first Taiwan-U.S. collaboration space program and the world’s first satellite constellation” – were launched into orbit. The follow-up to that successful program, developed by the National Space Organization (NSPO) in Taiwan and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the US, is scheduled to launch by 2019.
